Fox Hollow Elementary Volunteer Opportunity...

Hello All -

I'm helping out with running the Take Home Library program at Fox Hollow for the upcoming school year, and just thought I'd send out an early invite for volunteers. The time commitment is pretty much up to you - depends on how many classrooms/crates you offer to do (1 crate= approx 15-30min per week). The program runs September-early May. If you would possibly be interested, please contact me getpower@comcast.net (if you prefer a certain day-please indicate) so that we can start planning for it. More info to come....

Thanks,
Emily Power

Wacky Wednesday- swimming!

Thanks to Michele Reich and her mother in law for letting us come and swim! We always have fun coming.

This week we are going to Liberty Park. We will meet at my house at 10am to caravan. If you need directions to meet us later give me a call. I am hesitant about posting my phone number and address online, so if you don't have my number, ask a neighbor. :)
Those joining us, don't forget swimsuits, towels, sunscreen, and a picnic. :)

Wacky Wednesday- Cedar Hills Park

This park in Cedar Hills is a hidden treasure! The kids had fun riding scooters, playing on the playground, and of course playing in the water. :) Those who couldn't join us ought to go to this park sometime. It is a lot of fun!

This Wednesday we will be meeting at 10:30am in front of my house to caravan up to Michelle Reich's in-laws house to swim in their pool in the backyard. Those who want to join us later on just give us a call for directions.

Temple Dress

I have a temple dress I don't need anymore. I decided I'm definately a skirt person. Its a size Medium (those were skinnier days) and I bought it at Dressed in White. I haven't worn it much so its still in great condition. I was going to donate it to DI, but since its a temple dress, it seemed weird to do that, so I'd thought I'd see if anyone was in need of one. You can email me or call if your interested or just stop by and look at it. -m.reich (markreich@digis.net)

Fabric Sale at Walmart

Stephanie A. just told me that the AF Walmart has fabric on sale for 50 cents a yard. She got whole bolts for $5.

This is an EASY way to stock up and CONTRIBUTE to the humanitarian quilt race we are having in August. Go soon and choose some good fabric at a great price. You can bring fabric on Sunday or to Jennifer Seely's house.

Fabric dimensions needed are:
Two pieces measuring 1 2/3 yard poly-cotton or flannel fabric for crib quilts OR one piece of 2 1/3 yards of fabric if you want the front and back to be the same.

Two pieces of 5 yards poly-cotton or flannel fabric OR 7 1/2 yards total if you want the front and back to be the same.

Other items needed:
Batting for twin size quilt
Matching sewing thread of yarn

Your donations and participation in this project are much appreciated!

Megan Wootten asked me to post this information. There is also a flyer with more information, dates and prices. Email me if you want the flyer sent to you. jkbeames@gmail.com
All,

There is a Young Single Adult in the YSA Lehi 31st ward that is sponsoring a Music Camp for children this summer. She is a very accomplished piano player and instructor. Could you please forward this to any in your ward/s who could gain benefit from top notch music instruction at a very reasonable cost? See the flier attached.

Not only will the children benefit from this greatly, but it will be assisting Alyssa to continue her music education at BYU.

Here are some samples of her music:

Wacky Wednesday- Splash Pad & change of plans for next week

Look who forgot to take her camera! What the! We had fun though, and I know Rhonda took some pictures so if I can swipe some pics from her I will post them.

Heads Up: Next week we were originally going to go to the zoo, but plans have changed. We are going to a park in Cedar Hills. It has a stream the kids can play in, plenty of shade, a playground, and areas that kids can ride scooters, bikes, skateboards, etc.

We will meet at my house at 10am to caravan. If you would like to meet there the park is behind the Cedar Hills Walmart (across the street from Loan Peak Highschool). When you turn East at the Walmart you will see a round about with an elementary school just beyond it. The park is connected to the elementary school.

Please help me spread the word, I would feel awful if there are those who could or would want to come and they just don't know about the activities. Thanks!

Wacky Wednesday- This is the Place Heritage Park

This is the Place Heritage Park is so cool! We had a great time, and for those who weren't able to join us, you ought to go up sometime this summer. Every Wednesday admission is only $2 per person. Here are a few pics, sorry to Kelly who had to leave a bit early, I didn't grab a family shot at the wagon with your cute crew so the picture of Sam will just have to represent. :) We also LOVED having Collette join us this week. It was fun to see how much Eli has grown!

This Wednesday we are heading to the Highland Splash Pad. Let's plan on meeting at the splashpad anytime between 10:30 and 11am. Wear swimsuits, bring towels and sunscreen, and a lunch. They have bathrooms there but limited shade. If you haven't been there before, turn right after the Wendy's and you will run right into it.
