Family Dinner Time

Last week's Enrichment was great, though Copper thought it would be funny to be distractive. I wanted to share a few social-worky thoughts about the importance of family dinner time. Sitting down together, especially when your kids are teenagers, is a significant factor in preventing drug/alcohol use, depression, eating disorders, and sexual activity. It is also a significant contributor to academic performance and having your kids feel comfortable talking to parents about what is going on in their life. Most families don't have a hard time finding stuff to talk about during dinner, but most families I work with do. So I have a list of 120+ family conversation questions that are really fun. If you'd like a copy just email me at cassiehelferich@gmail.com. Sorry for the lesson on functional family life... :)
