In Need of a Miracle

I know its strange sometimes to ask people to pray for someone they don't know, but I'm going to anyway. My dear friend has a baby named Annie at PCMC that is in need of a miracle. She has been there since birth and will be 3 months old this month. She just had her third surgery, the first two were open heart. She is critical and the doctors are asking her parents to make end of life decisions. Annie will most likely choose to stay or go in the next couple of days. She has had many wonderful blessings and because of this her parents believe she was meant for this life. So if you could keep her in your prayers and pray that she will begin to recover quickly, I know her parents would appreciate it. Her Mom keeps an amazingly beautiful blog if you want to read the whole story. Anniesinmyheart.blogspot.com

Free Rocking Chair

I have a black mission style rocking chair from gardner village. I had it on my front porch for a year or so and it did not weather so great. I never used it and am not willing to sand it down and repaint it. So if anyone is ambitious and wants it you are welcome to it. If you like the weathered look you could leave it as is. I will hang on to it for another week or so and then I'm going to DI it.
email or call if you want it. markreich@digis.net

Snowcone Syrup recipe

We just found this new recipe and tried it out this afternoon. If any of you are like us, we love our ice shaver / snow cone maker but rarely use it because the syrups are so pricey. We're pretty pleased with this recipe - yummy & cheap!

1 pkg Kool-Aid powder
2 c. sugar
1. c water

Heat everything together until boiling. Make sure the sugar dissolves. Cool in the fridge. (The original recipe suggests using a funnel to pour the syrup into a squeeze bottle, we used a dressing carafe.)

Wacky Wednesday- Lehi Round up Week

I know, I know, you are all impressed at how fast I am at posting about Wacky Wednesday this week. It was today! So we started out at the Sidewalk Party at Pioneer Party and we waited in a ridiculously long line for face painting. The kids didn't seem to mind the wait though, in fact, I think I was the only one who complained about it. :) After the mayhem there we headed over to Hutchings Museum, (which is rad by the way) and looked at stuff. We stayed for the reptile show at noon and to be honest, I didn't pay attention at all to the show. I was too busy yapping with all my friends. :) But the kids seemed to enjoy it. Thanks to all that came.

Heads up: Next week we will be going to This is the Place State Park. We are going to try to leave promptly at 10am, so if you are running behind make sure to let me or someone you know who is planning on coming so we don't leave ya. This is an all day activity, one of the few this summer. We loved it last year. Bring picnics, sunscreen, camera, strollers if needed, and some money. I will let you know how much admission is, I am going to try to find discounts first. Meet at my house at 10am.
Okay, I know admission is $9 for adults and $7 for kids (3-11) and that there is a buy one get one free coupon in the Happenings book, but I am really hoping that what Kelly said is true about Wild Wednesdays being only $2. I am going to call tomorrow, but in the meantime, locate those Happenings books. :)
Update: Yes, tomorrow is only $2 admission! yeah!

Wacky Wednesday- Bridal Veil Falls

Bridal Veil Falls was beautiful as always, and the bad weather arrived just as we finished lunch, so we lucked out! The kids loved riding their scooters up the path to the waterfall. We had such a fun group too! Thanks to everyone who came, you made it so much fun! (Even you Doug, even though you were the only dad to come. :) Lol)

Home Decor

I redecorated my guest room (my daughter made me since she took all of the furniture and it was now an empty room!!). Thus I have some bedding and pictures available. I have a cream colored/red strip duvet cover(you would need to add the down comforter, bed skirt in the strip, red and cream regular size toile pillow shams, larger pillow shams in the red strip. Also a valance, some accent throw pillows and a couple of pictures that go with the whole ensemble. It would be great for a girl's or teen's room, would fit a queen or double bed and it's yours for the taking!! Call Jan Beames at 768-0810

Wacky Wednesday- Bean Museum

Last week we enjoyed the Bean Museum and BYU creamery (which by the way has a killer deal on kids meals which include their fabulous icecream).
Tomorrow we are meeting at my house at 10am to head up to beautiful Bridal Veil Falls. Bring a picnic, scooters, swimwear if you want to get wet, sunscreen, and don't forget your cameras! Hope to see many here tomorrow morning. Sorry so late getting this posted.
Heads up: Next week we will be meeting at my house at 10am to go to Lehi Roundup activities. They will be having a children's sidewalk party and a bird/reptile show. It should be lots of fun.

free moving boxes

Hi Everyone,
My daughter and I have about 100 small to medium sized moving boxes. If you know of anyone that can use these, please let me know. I hate to put them into the recycle bin because they are so expensive to buy. They are free to anyone who will pick them up. They are in excellent condition.
Thanks,
Linda Eldridge

Car Wash Fund Raiser

My visiting teacher, Andrea Wooten asked me to post this for her daughter, Megan!

I'm running a half marathon in a few weeks in Seattle for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in honor of my sister, Dani, who beat Leukemia. I've teamed up with the Firehouse Car Wash for my fundraising. If you'd like to support this wonderful cause and purchase a car wash (for yourself or maybe for Father's Day) please send me an email (mwootton04@gmail.com) with your phone number, the amount and type of washes you'd like to purchase and your home address and I'll bring them to you during the evening this week.

If you'd like to make a donation in lieu of purchasing a car wash, you can do so at:

Baby Sitter Needed

Hi everyone. Cassie H., who used to be in our neighborhood, is looking for a babysitter for her daughter who just turned 1. Here's some info from Cassie:

It would be Monday through Thursday for about 6-7 hours a day. I never work holidays or Fridays. It would be between 8:30-9:30 in the morning to around 3:30-4:30 in the afternoon; however, my schedule is as flexible as I need it to be. I pay $3.50 an hour, plus more each month for food. Copper is an incredible baby; she's one now (well, in two days), and is independent in a lot of ways. She's walking, eats great, naps well, and is very good natured. Smart as a whip. I don't think there's a better baby around. :)

If you are interested, call or email Mary and I'll pass along Cassie's contact info.
